Bullfrog Trail Maintainence : Mike (mkjeepers) of MyJeepRocks worked with the BLM and obtained trail markers signs for the Calkwalk and Bullfrog trail routes established in Cougar Buttes OHV area. We had a good time setting up the trail markers and exploring the area more as we meandered from point to point.

Joshua Tree - Christmas 2008 : The day after Christmas, the Woods Family invited a buddy (Chris) to enjoy a day away from civilization. We took the scenic route into Joshua Tree via Berdoo Canyon. The weather was beautiful, though a bit chilly. There were small patches of snow here and there on the plateau area of Pleasant valley. Along the way through Berdoo, we explored an unmarked side trail that is definitely a black diamond run. Going to have to explore this one further!

Nightmare Gulch - MJR - Dec 2008 : Had a great time with the members of the MyJeepRocks and JKowners web forums today. We played in Nightmare Gulch, dropped down Opal Canyon, then exited through Last Chance Canyon. With the recent snows, conditions were wet, but sadly, not muddy :-)

John Bull Trail - II : We spent a beautiful day up in the mountains near Big Bear Lake yesterday, taking the new Jeep out for some exercise. We explored the Gold Mountain and John Bull trails. Marni did most of the driving and is really getting a good feel for how amazing the Jeep performs on the trail. Recently, I asked a Jeep group about trails to help get ready for the Rubicon, and they all recommended John Bull. Well, as Marni ably demonstrates in the photos linked below, John Bull proved quite passable and enjoyable as well!

Gold Mtn & John Bull Trail : I was joined by SCLR buddies Matt Norton (Disco II) and Steve Perry (D90) for a nice run up to Big Bear. We ran Gold Mountain and then John Bull. These trails were quite a bit more worn than last year, but lots fun. We cruised through without any difficulties, but the trail demands careful wheel placement and your full attention or it could get real expensive real fast. Our little group made it through unscathed and ready for more!
